CCME Scholarships

The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) is pleased to offer scholarships each year to United States service members or their spouses who are working towards the completion of higher education degrees. Each award is in the amount of $500 and may be used for tuition, fees, books and other expenses encountered by the student pursuing educational goals.

All applicants must submit the CCME Scholarship Application (a link for online submission is below), and an essay on the following topic:

Explain how achieving your educational goals will assist in developing a 21st century total force.

Essays will be judged on written content and writing skills, and should be from 200 to 300 words in length. Applications that are incomplete or are from individuals that do not qualify will not be considered.

CCME Military Personnel Scholarship Program

The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) is pleased to offer scholarships each year to United States Servicemembers working towards the completion of higher education degrees. All U.S. Servicemembers working on Associate, Bachelor or Master Degrees are eligible to apply. All applicants must have completed basic training or Officer Candidate School. Each award is in the amount of $500 and may be used for tuition, fees, books and other expenses incurred while pursuing educational goals.



Essays will be judged on written content and writing skills, and should be from 200 to 300 words in length. Applications that are incomplete or are from individuals who do not qualify will not be considered.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for a CCME Scholarship, applicants must:
  • be a uniformed U.S. Servicemember, Active or Reserves
  • be currently enrolled in educational programs in a regionally or nationally accredited institution
  • have a minimum 3.0 GPA
Applicants who are finalists will be contacted. Each finalist must:
  • submit an unofficial transcript from the service member's college or university
  • submit two (2) letters of recommendation to be completed by persons unrelated to you, who will attest to your motivation, character, and integrity. One of the two letters must be from the local military installation ESO
  • submit a scanned copy (front and back) of current U.S. military ID card
Note: This scholarship is open only to U.S. Servicemembers who have completed Basic Military Training or Officer Candidate School. If you are not sure of your status contact before submitting the application.

The Scholarship committee will consider each completed application for all available scholarships. Awardees will be notified of the committee's decision by December 1, 2009. Due to the volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to notify all applicants of their status.



CCME Military Spouse Scholarship Program

The Council of College and Military Educators Spouse Scholarships (CCMEMSSP) are awarded to spouses of U.S. Servicemembers (active duty, National Guard and Reserve) to attend post secondary or graduate school. Each award is in the amount of $500 and may be used for tuition, fees, books and other expenses incurred while pursuing educational goals. The CCMEMSSP is a need-based education assistance program designed to provide military spouses with financial assistance in pursuing educational goals. The purpose of the program is to assist spouses in gaining the education required to allow them to qualify for increased occupational opportunities.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must be:
  • a Spouse of U.S. Servicemember (active duty, National Guard and Reserve)
  • pursuing a Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate Degree program
  • attending a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution
  • have a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Those who are awarded scholarships must submit evidence that they are enrolled in an approved school and should submit a letter of acceptance from an accredited university, college to CCME scholarship committee
  • College or University transcripts (unofficial transcripts will be accepted), but must be verified by local military installation Education Specialist Officer (ESO)
  • A letter of recommendation to be completed by persons unrelated to you, who will attest to your motivation, character, and integrity
  • A scanned copy (front and back) of current picture U.S. military ID card (DD Form 1173)
