Bart MacMillan

Chief, U.S. Marine Corps Voluntary Education Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia

Professional Experience: Bart MacMillan serves currently as the Manager of Education (VolEd) Programs for the U.S.  Marine Corps. He is located in Marine Family Headquarters on Marine Corps Base (MCB)  Quantico. He had 20+ years as a fulltime and adjunct university professor, prior to going to work  for Marine Corps Voluntary Education. He began in Marine Corps VolEd as an Education  Services Specialist in Okinawa Japan in 2007. He relocated to Henderson Hall in Arlington VA, in 2009, and assumed the role as MC VolEd Chief in April 2020. His duties focus primarily on  policy and regulations concerning the many Marine Corps personal and professional  development programs and military education and credentialing benefits. 


Education: 1979 -- Masters degree, Yale University 1977 -- Baccalaureate degree, Wichita State University 


Major Awards and Decorations: 2018 – John Brian Service Award, Counsel of College and Military Educators 2014 – Military Educator of the Year, Virginia Advisory Council of Military Education
