ASHLEY SEMPOWSKI

Chair of Communications

Ashley has over a decade of experience in higher education, working for institutions such as Wesley College, Springfield College, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She ran virtual information sessions tailored to active military and transitioning and veteran military members and coordinated events for military and prospective students. Other responsibilities and experience include program evaluation, assessment, and establishing partnerships and articulation agreements. Currently Ashley is Manager of Communications and Public Relations at International Fresh Produce Association but continues her advocacy for military education.

Her core belief is that relationship-building positively influences student retention. Through effective and transformative communication, Ashley enjoys one-on-one conversations and meetings, building rapport and identifying student needs and obstacles, and working together to help overcome them. Having identified a lack of incentive and scholarship for military students, Ashley was able to help secure institutional funds that awarded $1,000 “Mission Grants” to each military applicant she spoke with through one-on-one appointments and virtual sessions.

Ashley has a Bachelors in Spanish and Professional Writing from Washington and Jefferson College (PA), a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University (AZ) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Liberty University (VA) with a tentative completion date of January 2024.
