Crystal R. Jones is a highly accomplished military professional with a diverse range of experiences and achievements. Most recently serving as the Senior Accessions Analyst for the Army Recruiting and Retention Task Force, she is slated for her next assignment as the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion Commander. Crystal's journey began in 1998 when she enlisted in the active duty Army as a paralegal specialist. Afterward, she transitioned to the Army Reserve as enlisted, later serving as a cadet assuming the role of acting Commander for Charlie Company, 2-518th Reception Battalion while pursuing her studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.


In 2006, Crystal earned her active duty commission as a Distinguished Military Graduate and Distinguished Military Student through the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Program. With over 25 years of dedicated service, she has achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. Throughout her career, Crystal has held a wide range of human resources management and leadership positions at various command levels, showcasing her exceptional capabilities.


Demonstrating her adaptability, in addition to many key human resources professional and leadership positions, Crystal has taken on non-traditional and broadening assignments, including roles such as executive officer and headquarters platoon leader for the 549th Quartermaster Company at Fort Carson, executive officer for the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program (Forward) at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, executive officer for the 15th Military Police Brigade at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, commander of the Kansas City Military Entrance Processing Station in Kansas City, Missouri, Chief of the Personnel Management Office in the General Officer Management Office, Washington, D.C., and Strategic Distribution and Readiness Officer and later Executive Officer to the Director of Military Personnel Management at Headquarters, Department of the Army G-1 in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.


Crystal has been recognized for her outstanding service and has received several military awards and decorations. Among her accolades are the Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons. She has also earned the Air Assault Badge. In addition, she has been honored with the COL Robert L. Manning Achievement Medal, one Bronze Horatio Gates Bronze Medal, and two Horatio Gates Gold Medals, for her exceptional contributions and achievements within the Adjutant General Corps, as well as the Theodore Roosevelt Medal for her superior achievement in physical fitness.


Outside of her military duties, Crystal has actively contributed to various leadership, council, and committee positions in support of military and community goals. She has served with organizations such as the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association Chapters, churches, family readiness groups, and parent-teacher associations. Crystal's commitment to professional development is evident in her co-creation and co-facilitation of an emotional intelligence curriculum for the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). Additionally, she has served as a guest speaker for Command Perspectives and Leading Department of the Army Civilian electives at CGSC.


Crystal's educational background is impressive, with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military, as well as a Masters in Business Administration. She has also obtained various certifications and completed numerous courses, including RETAIN Parental Leave Coaching Certification, Intermediate Level Education from the Army's Command and General Staff College, AG Officer Advanced and Basic Courses, Basic Officer Leader Course, SHARP Certification Course, Operational Contract Support and HR Planners' Courses, Support Operations Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, and US Army Assault School. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, further demonstrating her dedication to personal and professional growth.


Crystal is married to Lieutenant Colonel Brian Jones, and together they have three daughters named Briar Rose (22), Zoey (20), and Grace (11).
