Nick Curry is the Head of Emerging Talent Pipelines for Amazon Web Services (AWS). The mission of the programs he leads is to provide access and opportunities to in-demand technical careers for more diverse candidates, including members of the military community. Since 2017, Nick has successfully built multiple programs and negotiated agreements with private businesses, governments, and higher education institutions to facilitate this training which produces internship, apprenticeship, and direct employment opportunities across all technical job families throughout Amazon. To date, more than 1,600 participants have received job offers because of Nick’s programs. Nick also represents Amazon as an official Apprenticeship Ambassador for the US Department of Labor (DoL) and is one of the first 100 US inaugural participants of the Obama Foundation Leaders program. Prior to AWS, Nick ran global customer escalations for the family of travel companies at Expedia Group from 2014-2017, and was the President of Expedia’s veteran business resource group, EMVA. From 2007-2014, he held a variety of roles from Sales Manager to Senior Operations Analyst at the financial services company USAA, while also leading the local veteran resource group, VETNET. Nick retired in 2019 after 20 years as an enlisted Navy submarine sailor (both active duty and Reserves). Nick graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of Phoenix in 2012.
