CCME Military Child Scholarship

Eligibility

  • be the child of an Active-Duty Service member, Drilling Reservist, or National Guard member

  • be currently enrolled in a regionally or nationally accredited post-secondary educational program with a CCME member institution (reference list here)

  • pursuing a first-time associate's or bachelor’s degree

  • must have a minimum of 12 or more hours (units) with a cumulative 2.5 GPA from the CCME member institution they are currently attending

  • Submit an unofficial college or university transcript from your current institution

  • a signed statement from the parent attesting to military status and/or affiliation (may also be a reference for a letter of reference)

  • Essay written to prompt (see above) with APA format

      As a military-affiliated student, you understand the importance of resilience, service, and leadership. We seek to recognize students who are actively shaping a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

    • Prompt: In 500–750 words, describe how your experience as a military-affiliated student has influenced your educational journey and your personal mission. How are you using education to create meaningful impact, and how have you engaged with your military or local community in a way that uplifts and empowers others?

Scholarship Application Review Process


All applications will be evaluated by the CCME 2026 Scholarship Committee. 


Evaluations will be based on:  

  • Ability to follow instructions and include all supporting information

  • Adherence to this year’s essay writing topic and quality of content


Once the committee has vetted all proposal submissions, those that have been selected will be submitted to the CCME Board for final approval. Notifications will go out in late January 2026.
